The firm has ran its annual innovation and technology week with virtual and in-person talks, webinars and hands-on live sessions
Last week, Burges Salmon hosted its annual B-Innovative Week, bringing the firm’s people together to explore and be inspired by the latest technologies and approaches to client-centric innovation. Now going into year five, the event encouraged employees to take part in a journey of discovery by exploring new technology, focusing on aspects of digital transformation and challenging people to think outside of the box.
The week kicked off with an informative session hosted by the Innovation team on ‘delighting clients’. By interviewing a range of individuals across the firm, our people were able to hear real-life case studies demonstrating the innovative ways in which client service delivery can be enhanced, including through technology, process improvements and collaboration.
Rosie Hatton, who heads up the digital Business Relationship Management team at the Houses of Parliament, joined B-Innovative Week and delivered an engaging and insightful keynote talk on ‘making digital more human’. She provided practical tips on how organisations can get more value from digital whilst not leaving anyone behind along the way. This theme of digital change was explored in more depth with a sneak preview of Burges Salmon’s new knowledge management system, Knowledge Unlocked, which will make it easier for Burges Salmon employees to access and share the firm’s collective legal and regulatory knowledge and expertise, using the latest technology from trusted suppliers iManage and LexSoft.
People across the firm had the exciting opportunity to attend a metaverse-focused interactive session. Hosted by Tom Whittaker, Senior Associate in the Technology team, together with the firm’s Innovation team and Bristol-based tech start-up Iternal, it looked to answer the key question “What is the metaverse?!” by providing attendees with an immersive and hands-on experience with a range of different metaverses tailored with Burges Salmon content, and giving insights into what the impact of this virtual reality might be in the future. Even our managing partner Roger Bull got stuck in!
