KPMG names Stuart Bedford as new UK Head of Law

KPMG UK, a leading professional services firm, has appointed Stuart Bedford as its new UK Head of Law. Stuart is set to join the firm from Linklaters, another UK based law firm. He previously worked for the firm as a Corporate Partner, advising on a broad range of international deals including acquisitions, joint ventures and fund structures.

A rich history in the legal industry

Stuart also spent two years as in-house counsel with BAE Systems. He also spent 18 months as a partner of Leapfrog Investments, a private equity firm focused on high growth companies.

Stuart will succeed Nick Roome, who has led KPMG’s UK law practice since 2015. Nick has now been promoted, concentrating on growing KPMG’s global legal solutions.

Stuart and Nick will take up their new roles from April 2023.

Commenting on his colleagues success, Nick said:

He is a highly experienced partner with a great track record of delivering for clients. I know his extensive network and expertise will be a great asset to our business and our clients as we look to build on two years of stellar growth and deliver on our ambitious investment plan.”

KPMG’s legal practices

Established in 2014, KPMG Law is integrated within the wider UK firm alongside the tax, consultancy and deal advisory practices and is represented throughout the country’s major legal centres.

The UK firm provides a wide range of advice to clients including:

  • Corporate Deals and Structuring
  • Commercial Technology and Data
  • Workforce
  • Tax Disputes
  • Family Office

Amongst other legal operations.

KPMG LLP, a UK limited liability partnership, operates from 20 offices across the UK with approximately 15,300 partners and staff.

The UK firm recorded a revenue of £2.43 billion in the year ended 30 September 2021.

The firm also operates internationally, providing audit, legal, tax and advisory services across the globe

Globally, KPMG Law comprises over 3,000 legal professionals operating across 80 countries.
