The marketing team at Manchester-based law firm, Slater Heelis, has appointed Michael Duckworth as its new communications executive.
The creation of this new role is the latest in a wave of recent appointments across all departments for the rapidly growing firm which has already recruited 50 new members of staff this year and is on track to reach a total headcount of 229 by the end of 2022.
Michael is a BA Hons English Literature graduate from Newcastle University, who worked as an editor of the student newspaper whilst studying. Bringing strong research skills and a keen interest in diversity and inclusion, his new position involves helping to grow Slater Heelis’ online and social media presence.
Michael says: “Members of my family work in law, so it’s a field I already had some attachment to. Slater Heelis’ emphasis on equal opportunity made them stand out as an employer, as it was clear even from an outside perspective that they weren’t just paying lip service to the idea, but they had actually committed themselves to it.”
Kristen Drummond, head of marketing at Slater Heelis, added: “Michael brings considerable talent, energy and potential to the business and we look forward to helping him use those assets and gain valuable experience in our team.”
