Law firm Blandy & Blandy has again been recognised as a ‘top tier’ firm in the 2023 edition of The Legal 500, published this week, placing it among the leading law firms in the region.
Blandy & Blandy is recommended across 13 different practice areas, all those in which it advises, and is named as a top tier firm in four of these areas – ‘Family’, ‘Personal Tax, Trusts and Probate’, ‘Environment and Planning’ and ‘Licensing’.
The firm is also highly recommended in the ‘Corporate and Commercial’, ‘Employment’, ‘Commercial Property’, ‘Commercial Litigation’, ‘Insolvency and Recovery’, ‘Property Litigation’, ‘Contentious Trusts and Probate’, ‘Charities’ and ‘Public Sector’ rankings.
14 of Blandy & Blandy’s 16 partners are individually recognised as experts in their respective fields (as The Legal 500 does not cover the area of Residential Property), whilst partners Jonathan Gater, (Personal Tax, Trusts and Probate), Karen Jones (Environment and Planning), Claire Dyer (Family) and Sue Dowling (Licensing) are acknowledged as ‘leading individuals’ in their respective fields.
12 other lawyers are also recommended in this year’s guide – Emma Ford (Corporate and Commercial), Andrea Corr (Employment), Peter Hilton, Elizabeth Owen and Shashi Sachdeva (Family), Graham Benwell and Louise Nelson (Personal Tax, Trusts & Probate), Jane Gunnell and Gemma Smith (Commercial Property), Philip D’Arcy (Contentious Trusts & Probate) and Jonathan Dinsdale and Asma Muneer (Property Litigation).
“Blandy & Blandy look for solutions to enable clients to achieve their objectives rather than looking for reasons why they can’t,” says one source, whilst another adds: “While Blandy’s feels very traditional, its understanding of modern business practices is excellent. It also has a genuine international network and the service has been efficient and informed throughout.”
The firm is also credited for providing “high quality advice, “excellent client care” and “value for money”, and for being “extremely approachable”, “highly responsive”, “very understanding and supportive” and “easy to work with”.
Chairman and partner Nick Burrows said: “We are delighted to continue to be recognised as a top tier firm and we would like to say an enormous thank you to all clients and contacts who participated in this year’s research process, for the very kind comments they have shared on working with us.
I would also like to thank and indeed congratulate our entire team, as everyone has played an important role in our shared success.
This year’s strong performance is testament to the expertise, hard work and dedication of colleagues – including those who have joined us more recently as we continue to grow – some of whom I am very pleased to see recognised in this year’s guide.”
Recognised as one of the leading guides to the legal profession, The Legal 500 analyses and ranks law firms based on how they are viewed by both clients and other professionals. The UK edition is one of more than 100 published worldwide.
