Adronis Group encouraged by WFW to acquire historic Italian mansion San Gimignano

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has advised Greece’s Andronis Group (“Andronis”) on its acquisition of the historic Villa del Monte mansion in the world-renowned town and UNESCO World Heritage Site of San Gimignano, Tuscany, Italy. As of yet, this is Andronis’ first investment in Italy.

The Villa del Monte was owned by the Ruffo di Calabria family, one of the oldest noble in Italy. The mansion, which Andronis is intending to convert into a tourist accommodation, comprises 35 bedrooms and ten salons covering a total are of circa 5,000 square meters, as well as 2,820,000 square meters of surrounding cultivated land.

Greece’s top luxury hospitality company, Andronis owns, operates and manages exclusive luxury fashion hotels in Athens and the island of Santorini.

The multidisciplinary WFW Italy team advising Andronis was led by Corporate Partner Carlo Cosmelli, working closely with WFW Athens Project & Structured Finance Partner Nikolaos Kostikas.
