Freeths has advised Foresight Group, a leading listed private equity and real asset manager, on its strategic investment in Montpellier Legal Limited, a rapidly growing tech-enabled conveyancing law firm.

This represents the first investment from Foresight’s flagship South West Fund, dedicated to supporting regional businesses. Freeths, one of the South West’s fastest-growing Corporate Advisory teams, is pleased to have partnered with Foresight on this significant investment. The deal signals strong regional growth and highlights strategic private equity interest in the professional services sector.

Amy Crofton, Managing Director at Foresight Group, said: “Thank you to the Freeths team who provided excellent support throughout for the successful close of this flagship transaction – Freeths has been a friendly, responsive and pragmatic transaction partner to Foresight.”

The Freeths team was led by Corporate Director Lottie Hugo who worked alongside Banking & Finance Partner Ben Moylan. Key support was provided by Corporate Managing Associate Fiona Woodhead, Corporate Senior Associate Cormac Hayes, Banking & Finance Senior Associate Billy Shaw, Banking & Finance Associate Victoria Naylor, Corporate Associate Ben Treasure, Corporate Trainee Solicitor William Watts, and other specialists across multiple teams.

Commenting on the deal, Lottie Hugo added: “This transaction represents a fantastic example of investment driving innovation and growth in the south west and in the legal sector which is currently seeing significant interest from private equity. It’s been a pleasure working with Foresight Group to support their partnership with Montpellier Legal and exciting to be a part of the south west fund’s first investment.”
