National law firm Clarke Willmott LLP is celebrating a year at its new home in Birmingham’s Colmore Row.
The firm moved from Edmund Street to 9 Colmore Row last summer with a view to supporting its future growth plans and providing a flexible working environment for staff.
Rayner Grice, Clarke Willmott’s Head of Office in Birmingham, led the project. She said 83 per cent of staff had said they would prefer to work in a hybrid way in the long term.
“Staff who prefer and want to work in the office can do so, but those who want to dip in and out as their needs change are also accommodated,” she said.
“By using a desk booking system and having created a space with a full range of work environments from private booths through to a business lounge, our people can collaborate with one another, socialise or work quietly on confidential matters. We trust teams to work together to achieve the right result for clients.
“We’ve had another very profitable year and have added two new partners in Birmingham in the shape of Adam Maguire in Family and Kim Klahn in Corporate. The early signs are that hybrid working is continuing to allow us to work more efficiently, while at the same time maintaining the culture of the firm and preserving work/life balance.”
Stephen Rosser, CEO at Clarke Willmott, said the hybrid, flexible working model was also a key feature in the refurbishment of its existing office at Blackbrook Gate, Taunton and its move next spring to Bristol’s Assembly C.
He said: “For us this is about facilitating remote working combined with an appealing office environment in order for staff to enjoy working collaboratively in person with clients and colleagues, whilst also enjoying the culturally important social aspects of work.”
