The Manleys Solicitors recently marked a significant milestone as they celebrated their 10th anniversary, albeit a year later than planned!
Manleys Solicitors, an esteemed boutique litigation firm located in Chester, was established by the renowned media lawyer, Mark Manley, in 2012. Mark, who had previously served as a partner at Brabners in Liverpool and possessed extensive experience in diverse litigation matters, embraced the opportunity to establish a new firm as a fresh challenge.
On the 1st of May 2012, Manleys officially commenced operations, operating from their former premises on St John Street in Chester. To commemorate this occasion, a grand launch party was held at the Hilton Double Tree, attended by notable clients including renowned comedians Ricky Tomlinson, Stan Boardman, and former footballer-turned-Sky TV pundit, Jamie Carragher.
Over the past 10+ years, Manleys has exhibited remarkable growth, boasting a client base that resembles a “Who’s Who” list! The firm has garnered recognition from both national and local media outlets, as well as prominent legal directories. In fact, they were even shortlisted for the prestigious Lawyer Awards UK Boutique Law Firm of the Year. In 2017, due to their expansion, Manleys acquired a substantial commercial property spanning three floors in the esteemed Grosvenor Court, subsequently relocating to their new premises just before Christmas that same year.
The previous year proved to be incredibly eventful for the firm, with numerous high-profile cases taking them to prominent courts such as the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland, the High Court of England and Wales, and the United States District Court in New York. However, amidst the demands of this busy period, the 10-year milestone was overlooked without celebration. Consequently, Rebekah Booth, the firm’s Chief Operations Officer, deemed it fitting to arrange a surprise 10+1 dinner, finally honoring the resounding success achieved over the past 11 years.
Reflecting on a decade of success, Mark expressed his thoughts:
