Weightmans has announced it will split a £1.5 million bonus between its staff after landing major net profits in the last tax year.

Turnover for the firm, which merged with RadcliffesLeBrasseur this month, increased by 5 per cent to £103.2 million.

Significant organic growth in its litigation, transactions and advisory division, and claims divisions was behind the figures.

Managing partner John Schorah said the figures showed their great recovery from the impact of the Covid pandemic.

He added: “The merger with RadcliffesLeBrasseur will contribute significantly to the depth and breadth of services we offer to clients across the UK and we are excited by what we can achieve together in the coming months. The firm’s footprint and presence has strengthened nationally, we now have a very significant presence in London and in all our client markets we are major players.”

The combined firm will have a turnover of £120 million, with 225 partners and a total headcount of over 1400 people based across nine offices — Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, London, Manchester and Newcastle — cementing its place as a top 40 national firm.
